THE WOZPAK

THE WOZPAKA collection of materials named "The WOZPAK and Other Assorted Goodies". On the front page is noted “a collection of Apple II Documentation furnished through Courtesy of Apple Computer, Inc.”, it is summarized with the cooperation of Apple by two members who named Dick Hubert and Val Golding of Apple Pugetsound Program Library Exchange based in Washington. About 300 pages including handwritten notes, literatures and notes on the Apple II system are gathered.
1977
In 1977, Woz published an article on the system "The Apple-II" in the April issue of "Byte", and on the simulation program of the 16-bit CPU written with 6502 machine language code in F0 of the integer(6K) Basic ROM called "Sweet 16: The 6502 Dream Machine" in November issue.

This book seems to have been summarized around the end of 1977, as it includes typed materials and printouts of source lists that are considered to be manuscripts of these articles. " So Far " This material seems to be no doubt that Apple cooperated in the creation, as the cover appeared in Apple’s 20th anniversary magazine “So Far ".

ANNUAL REPORT 1984

Apple’s Annual Report in 1984. The cover is "1984" commercial "On January 24th, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you'll why 1984 won" t be like 1984 ". The monitor used in the silhouette is the Apple IIe color monitor. In this year, a huge amount of advertisement expenditure was introduced. Macintosh and Apple IIc were on sale, and when announcing IIc on 24th April invited 4 thousand people to the Moscone Center in San Francisco with a budget of 2.5 million dollars, a party entitled "Apple II Forever" opened.  This annual report is also very luxurious under this trend.

Starting with a commercial “1984” introduction, using a two-page spread for each team such as Jobs and Sculley , IBM PC and Macintosh pictures, management team, Apple II team, Macintosh team, sales team, creative team were introduced and the movement of this year and the key employees explained like a picture journal.  On the Creative Team page, there were pictures of president Jay Chiat, Lee Clow, Director Steve Hayden, you can see a close relationship between Apple and Chiat Day Company at that time.

The photo on the left is the Apple II team. From the left 6 members of Marketing Manager, Dabe Larson Senior Product Designer Rob Gemmel, Marketing Manager Jim Bean, Hardware Engineering Manager Peter Quinn, Senior Vice President Del Yocam, Materials Manager Jerry Devlin are featured. Apple IIc has been extremely sluggish since its launch, and it has become a controversy from the immediate release and was controversial within the company whether to change the original characteristic red packaging. Also in the poor sales, Del Yocam changed the organization of the Apple II team, promoted Dabe Larson to the Apple II business manager, and Peter Quinn has left his job afterwards. ( See "The West of Eden" ) This picture seems to have been taken before such change of regime.
At the end of the book, 11 users including Jim Henson and Lee Iacocca are introduced in portrait photography and I can see that it is the roots of Think Different campaign after 13 years.
Because the fiscal year of Apple is the end of September, the data as of the end of September 1984 is used for Financial Data. Together with the fact that the shareholders' meeting in 1985 was held on January 24, this report seems to have been issued within the year.

1998: THE YEAR OF THINKING DIFFERENT

Jobs who returned to Apple after the acquisition of Apple's NeXT in December 1996, after resigning Amelio in July 1997, he became a director in August and will effectively lead the company.

During this movement, Jobs started advertising campaign for "Think Different" from the end of September, replacing an advertising agency from BBDO to Chiat Day which succeeded "1984". In this campaign, Apple praised the geniuses who had revolutionized the world such as Einstein, Picasso and Gandhi, and placed the declaration of "to crazy people".
This book was delivered to Apple employees and stakeholders in commemoration of the first anniversary of the Think Different campaign. Using portfolio of two-page spread, portrait of the genius used in advertisement and its achievement are briefly explained. At the beginning there is a commentary with Jobs' autograph, it appeals strongly to the people concerned about the reproduction of Apple spirit.
